Whenever I have previously pondered on individuals running marathons, it seemed so matter of fact. They ran 26.2 miles. Cool.
The training experience has literally taken on flesh for me. And when I say "taken on" I mean "made war against." Ha. Above are just a few pictures of blisters I've recently had. (Sorry for the shabby toenails--as you can imagine, I'm too ashamed to take these guys in for a pedicure!) If you can believe it, the first three (same blister) are just small potatoes compared to the blisters I received last weekend from my 2.5 hour run. The last picture depicts one of the four blisters on my two big toes. Poor poor piggies who went to the market--they had no idea what they were in for!

saw them in person but did not need to see them again. eck. :)
sad jess. those look horrible and painful. :(
Yuk! I know what you mean though. When I did the Nashville 1/2 marathon a few years ago, I had a blister on the bottom of my foot the size of a silver dollar. Not fun at all! Way to go for training for a full. It's a great accomplishment.
OWWWWW! Those have to hurt. You are an inspiration and I hope to one day run at least a half marathon if not a full (we'll see if I ever get around to it).
Okay, a little strange to post photos of toe blisters, but I still laud your determination and discipline. Puts me to shame.
Help a girl out - what was your hair decision? Some of us can't see you for ourselves, you know...
just think how proud you will be when you cross that finish line!!! it will be worth it!!
I'm sure they hurt. You have sympathy from me. Have you tried mole skin (sp?) to help in the healing? Randy has used it in the past and swears by it. Keep up the training, you can do it!
You probably already know this but have you tried Body Glide?
hahahahaha! im so sorry!!!
body glide sounds...dirty
