Okay, on to something less cheesy and more mundane:
The weather messes with my head. Why is this? Anytime there is impending rain or a storm, I get a headache for no other known reason. This is also known to occur when there is soon to be a sudden drop or rise in temperature.
This morning, I awoke to a migraine situated directly behind my left eye--blind spot and all. This afternoon in the middle of a hot sunny day, we had a sudden gloomy downpour. I don't get migraines very often (maybe a total of three or four times a year), but they always seem to be related to the weather.
You might be thinking this is all in my head (as many things usually are!!), but I promise that I have no knowledge of the future weather when these headaches occur. How does my body just *know* some weird weather thing is going to happen? And why does it only happen on certain occasions? It is just plain weird.
Does anyone else have weather symptoms? I know I'm not alone! Buster's knee always hurts when it rains. If you know the scientific explanation for this--feel free to comment!

Jess,
My ENT told me that a condition called Non-allergic Vascular Rhinitis (sp?) can cause this very thing. He thinks that is what I have. Basically your mucus membranes swell in reaction to certain environmental changes. I get migraines anytime there is a change in the humidity, with certain smells, and temperature changes. I take Astellin (again, sp?), a nasal spray with some nasty aftertaste, and that has knocked it out. I rarely get them anymore. Maybe you have this too?
ME TOO ME TOO! I get migraines sometime because of stress, sometimes for no reason at all, and often as a result of drastic changes in humidity. This week, I've been lucky enough to avoid full on migraines, but have had some pretty persistent headaches. I, literally, feel your pain.
You are so funny! No I don't think anything like that happens to me. But at least you know when to grab your umbrella:)
I don't know if you've found a specific answer yet, but, Barometric Pressure is what I've been told. Although there has yet to be any medical breakthroughs to prove such theories. You may find this article interesting http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=52133
P.S. I saw you had a blog when I was in Atlanta this past weekend & I've been snooping......... :)
