five-oh

in honor of today's roadtrip to nashville to meet up with nick's jr high mission trip, i would like to blog about something that really drives me crazy (no pun intended):

i am sorry if this includes you, but i absolutely abhor people who drive cars that look like police cars. white chevy impalas. white crown victorias. they are the bain of my existance.

now, personally, i am not a fan of white cars in general. however, i know many people like them, and that's okay. even my husband owns a white toyota camry, which i drive frequently. but the only reason i can figure that someone would buy a white whatever-model-car-the-police-use is that they WANT to their car to look like the po-po. this is not cool.

i realize that feeling suddenly anxious and guilty when i am around one of these cars could be alleviated by always driving by the upstanding motor vehicle laws. and i am a good driver. but i also have a very huge conscience--the strong, sensitive type. i feel guilty around police cars even when i am driving perfectly!

i wish automakers that produce cars for the police force would refrain from selling that model in the color white. is that too much to ask?

I'm with you. I also hate black, dark blue, or gray unmarked police look-alikes. I know, I know, that's the point...you're not supposed to be able to recognize them. But c'mon, all of the "unmarked" cars have black window tint that is far darker than the legal darkness. But from a distance, you can't tell that so I always slam on my brakes when I see any police model car, white or dark.

There is nothing worse than throwing your brakes on while you pass a white chevy caprice on the side of the road, only to pass it and see that there are four guys changing out a tire on it. ERRRRRR.

Oh, Kelly and Jesse, I was IN nashville on that fateful trip... Laugh...

I have been pulled over by South Carolina camaros and Georgia Tahoes, so no car is safe to me...
