March 1

March has been said to be a month that comes "in like a lion, out like a lamb."  (I learned this in my childhood and have no idea why it stuck, along with "April showers bring May flowers" and the entire "These are the Months of the Year" song.)

This year's March 1 was very "lamb-y," for which I am thankful!  It was so pleasantly warm and sunny outside today--it felt like spring!  I was so happy because I was needing a day like today.

January and February are the most dreaded months in my year because they are so grey, cold, and rainy in Memphis.  I must have that seasonal mood disorder or whatever they call it, because when the weather is so dreary it just makes my whole life seem dreary.  I have a personal rule never to make big decisions in January or February because they will most likely be out of desperation.  (This is why I hurried up and made the job change in November!)

That first warm day on the verge of spring always puts me in a great mood.  Today, I wore shorts.  Today, I turned up some beachy music and did some spring cleaning with all of the window curtains pulled back.  Today, I opened the sunroof, rolled down the windows, and even invited Owens (my dog) to join me on a drive.  Heavenly.

I'm sure there will be some lion days this month, but I was so glad we started out with a lamb!

Also let me say I actually felt the same way about Girl Meets God the first go around. But by the end I found it very endearing and now everytime I re-read it I seriously find myself tearing up at the parts where I know God is chasing her and she doesn't know it yet.
